Koryu Dynasty
In 935 AD, Wang Kon, he took over the Koreas and became the first king. This dynasty lasted until 1392 AD. The government in the Koryu Dynasty was based on China’s government. They had a civil service system just like China, the only difference was that there was no placement test, so it was impossible to move up the social ladder, the social level you were in was the one you stayed in for the rest of your life. You were born with your social level. One key feature of the culture of the Koryu Dynasty was the celadon pottery. Another feature was all of the wooden blocks for printing Buddhist scriptures. In 1231, the Mongols came to control Korea, and they stayed in Korea, controlling it until the Mongol Empire fell in 1361. Then in 1392, scholarly officials and military leaders had a rebellion and overthrew the Koryu Dynasty.
