The Kamakura Shogunate

Seven years after the Fujiwara Shogunate fell, in 1192 AD, another shogunate came to power, the Kamakura Shogunate. It lasted less than a century, until 1281 AD. It fell becauseit ran out of resources and money after the Mongols invaded, they spent all of theirresources. The people could not pay the samurais to protect them anymore, so the

samurais went home. After the samurai left, the empire ended up breaking up into small feudal kingdoms.
